This time you are going to learn on how to create your very own customized twitter background.<br /><br />For those, who don't really know what is Twitter all about, here's the right definition! Twitter is a service for friends, family, and co–workers to communicate and stay connected through the exchange of quick, frequent answers to one simple question: <span style="color: rgb(102, 255, 255);font-size:130%;" ><span style="font-weight: bold;">What are you doing?</span></span><br /><br />Here's a sample of my own Twitter page and join today to start receiving my updates! <a style="color: rgb(255, 255, 0);" href="http://twitter.com/ramesstudios"><span style="font-weight: bold;">@ramesstudios</span></a><br /><br /><a href="http://twitter.com/ramesstudios"><img src="http://img16.imageshack.us/img16/9420/minezak.jpg" /></a><span class="fullpost"><br /><br />In this tutorial, I'll be showing you the process of creating twitter background of my adobe tuts! <a href="http://twitter.com/adobetuts/"><span style="font-size:130%;"><span style="font-weight: bold; color: rgb(102, 255, 255);">@adobetuts</span></span></a><br /><br />First of all, download the Twitter backround template that I've created for you <a href="http://www.ramesstudio.com/adobetuts/twitter_background.psd"><span style="font-weight: bold; color: rgb(255, 255, 0);">here</span></a><br /><br /><span style="font-weight: bold; color: rgb(102, 255, 255);">Step 1</span><br /><img src="http://img140.imageshack.us/img140/159/29353736.jpg" /><br />I'll be using 1280x1024 resolution because it's the standard size + mostly used screen res these days. We'll be working on only the part I've specified above. You can go beyond the size but it can only be seen on larger size monitors.<br /><br /><span style="font-weight: bold; color: rgb(102, 255, 255);">Step 2</span><br /><img src="http://img142.imageshack.us/img142/6429/58630508.jpg" /><br />In order to create the background, you'll need plain, patterned or image. In this tutorial, I'll be using wood with black color fading around it. Why fading? Because later on, we need to blend the image with the twitter page background.<br /><br /><span style="font-weight: bold; color: rgb(102, 255, 255);">Step 3</span><br /><img src="http://img152.imageshack.us/img152/2594/43730259.jpg" /><br />Adjust the opacity to 70%, so that you can actually see where is the exact working area of your twitter background.<br /><br /><span style="font-weight: bold; color: rgb(102, 255, 255);">Step 4</span><br /><img src="http://img5.imageshack.us/img5/5272/77126376.jpg" /><br />Now, you need to start adding all your logos or graphics onto your twitter design.<br /><br /><span style="font-weight: bold; color: rgb(102, 255, 255);">Step 5</span><br /><img src="http://img6.imageshack.us/img6/9626/68274606.jpg" /><br />Here's a lil tips.<br />- Add your logos (if you have any)<br />- Email address (your followers can email you)<br />- Your blog/ website URL (followers can check out portfolio or services offered by you)<br /><br /><span style="font-weight: bold; color: rgb(102, 255, 255);">Step 6</span><br /><img src="http://img266.imageshack.us/img266/3177/71846225.jpg" /><br />Add some photos or image props to make the page look more attractive.<br /><br /><span style="font-weight: bold; color: rgb(102, 255, 255);">Step 7</span><br /><img src="http://img10.imageshack.us/img10/6231/24623823.jpg" /><br />This is how the design will look like once you've added all the necessery info and graphics.<br /><br /><span style="font-weight: bold; color: rgb(102, 255, 255);">Step 8</span><br /><img src="http://img152.imageshack.us/img152/8723/97444304.jpg" /><br />Make the wood background's opacity back to 100%.<br /><br /><span style="font-weight: bold; color: rgb(102, 255, 255);">Step 9</span><br /><img src="http://img14.imageshack.us/img14/1861/50286493.jpg" /><br />Crop the whole image and save it.<br /><br /><span style="font-weight: bold; color: rgb(102, 255, 255);">Step 10</span><br /><img src="http://img8.imageshack.us/img8/5206/78475649.jpg" /><br /><br />Use the File> Save for web in order to save it. Choose the right optimized size and quality and proceed to save it.<br /><br /><span style="font-weight: bold; color: rgb(102, 255, 255);">Step 11</span><br /><img src="http://img216.imageshack.us/img216/8918/32942541.jpg" /><br />Now go to <a style="color: rgb(51, 255, 255);" href="http://twitter.com/"><span style="font-weight: bold;">http://twitter.com</span></a> to register. Once you've done that, go to <span style="font-weight: bold;">Settings </span>and click on the <span style="font-weight: bold; color: rgb(102, 255, 255);">Design </span>tab. Select the "Change Background Image" and click on browse. Locate the photo and <span style="font-weight: bold; color: rgb(102, 255, 255);">"Save Changes"</span><br /><br /><span style="font-weight: bold; color: rgb(102, 255, 255);">Step 12</span><br /><img src="http://img228.imageshack.us/img228/5781/51147910.jpg" /><br />Next, click on the "Change Design Colors". Change the colors according to your background designs. Use the color picker in your photoshop (see below) to help you decide which color suits your twitter page.<br /><br /><img src="http://img25.imageshack.us/img25/1824/16327499.jpg" /><br /><br />Walla!!!!! Well, you can. This can be done easily using photoshop action.<br /><br /><img src="http://img120.imageshack.us/img120/3612/mainjw6.jpg"><span class="fullpost"><br /><br /><font style="font-weight: bold; color: rgb(102, 255, 255);">Step 1</font><br /><img src="http://img508.imageshack.us/img508/265/90850049sv0.jpg"><br />Open the photo that you want to add the watermark.<br /><br /><font style="font-weight: bold; color: rgb(102, 255, 255);">Step 2</font><br /><img src="http://img385.imageshack.us/img385/3741/97181070qc1.jpg"><br />Go to <span style="font-weight: bold;">Window> Actions</span>. A small window will pop up. Click on the "<span style="font-weight: bold;">Create New Action</span>" icon. Next, name the action as "<span style="font-weight: bold;">Watermark Horizontal</span>" and click "<span style="font-weight: bold;">OK</span>"<br /><br /><span style="font-weight: bold;">PS: This action is for all the photos that has same sizes for Horizontal photos. If you have vertical photos, create a separate action.</span><br /><br /><span style="color: rgb(102, 255, 255); font-weight: bold;">Step 3</span><br /><img src="http://img120.imageshack.us/img120/5674/46558300wl6.jpg"><br />You'll notice, the small action popup has red sign (appears as recording icon). Your steps is now being recorded by Photoshop. Now, go back to the photo and resize it to your preference (probably your blog photos has fixed width and height).<br /><br /><span style="font-weight: bold; color: rgb(102, 255, 255);">Step 4</span><br /><img src="http://img181.imageshack.us/img181/9360/80862929fx5.jpg"><br />Add a new layer for the watermark part. Make sure you've selected the top part of the action "<span style="font-weight: bold;">watermark horizontal</span>" before clicking on the "Play" button.<br /><br />That's pretty easy! isn't it? :)</span>Rameshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09545208008148315339noreply@blogger.com14tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8141494383696173446.post-66937163971501550872008-12-18T22:26:00.007+08:002008-12-18T22:39:52.641+08:00Adobe Photoshop Tutorials - Touch Up Old PhotosDo you have any old photos of your grandparents that needed to be fixed? Good! Here are some of the easy steps to get that done.<br /><br /><img src="http://img368.imageshack.us/img368/1188/mainkh1.jpg" /><span class="fullpost"><br /><br /><span style="font-weight: bold; color: rgb(102, 255, 255);">Step 1</span><br /><img src="http://img367.imageshack.us/img367/8279/29586219qa6.jpg" /><br />Scan and import the old photo into the photoshop. Next go to<span style="font-weight: bold;"> Image> Adjustments> Hue/ Saturation </span>and adjust the Saturation slider to <span style="font-weight: bold;">40 </span>and click <span style="font-weight: bold;">OK</span>.<br /><br /><span style="font-weight: bold; color: rgb(102, 255, 255);">Step 2</span><br /><img src="http://img132.imageshack.us/img132/335/65295459tc7.jpg" /><br />After you done that, go to<span style="font-weight: bold;"> Image> Levels</span>. Set the input levels to <span style="font-weight: bold;">0, 1.00, 236</span> and click <span style="font-weight: bold;">OK</span>.<br /><br /><span style="color: rgb(102, 255, 255); font-weight: bold;">Step 3</span><br /><img src="http://img364.imageshack.us/img364/1999/60324906ia5.jpg" /><br />Make a new layer. Choose a suitable color and spray around the photo. This is to hide the dirt surface of the photo. Adjust the Fill opacity to <span style="font-weight: bold;">90%</span>, so that you can actually still see the bottom layer of the photo.<br /><br /><span style="font-weight: bold; color: rgb(102, 255, 255);">Step 4</span><br /><img src="http://img374.imageshack.us/img374/8745/24440498mz8.jpg" /><br />It is time to erase that color that you've just sprayed around the photo. Use the <span style="font-weight: bold;">Eraser tool</span> and erase the highlighted red area as shown above.<br /><br /><span style="font-weight: bold; color: rgb(102, 255, 255);">Step 5</span><br /><img src="http://img355.imageshack.us/img355/246/96244908jm1.jpg" /><br />Use the same step as above to remove the color on the props.<br /><br /><span style="font-weight: bold; color: rgb(102, 255, 255);">Step 6</span><br /><img src="http://img72.imageshack.us/img72/388/87441733fq0.jpg" /><br />Once you've done erasing all the overlapping color, its time to touch up the photo. Use the Smudge tool to smudge around that person's face to give it a smoother feel/ look. You can adjust the strength to <span style="font-weight: bold;">40%</span>, so that it doesn't look like over smudged.<br /><br /><span style="font-weight: bold; color: rgb(102, 255, 255);">Step 7</span><br /><img src="http://img367.imageshack.us/img367/1131/49181576pr2.jpg" /><br />Use the Stamp tool to hide teared/ pealed surface of the photo. Simply hold the "<span style="font-weight: bold;">Alt</span>" key and click on the area that you want to copy from, then brush the area that you want to hide. It's that easy! Do the same process all over the photo and you're done!<br /><br /><span style="font-weight: bold; color: rgb(102, 255, 255);">Step 8</span><br /><img src="http://img132.imageshack.us/img132/176/60361250hd0.jpg" /><br />If you think that the photo looks dull, no worries, you can add colors on it. Simply create new layers(set the layer style to "<span style="font-weight: bold;">overlay</span>") and start coloring on the photo.<br /><br /><img src="http://img209.imageshack.us/img209/6959/finalni0.jpg" /><br /><br />Download the PSD sample here : <a style="font-weight: bold; color: rgb(255, 255, 0);" href="http://www.ramesstudio.com/adobetuts/oldphoto.psd">http://www.ramesstudio.com/adobetuts/oldphoto.psd</a><br /><br />That's all folks! Make sure you erase the circled parts on the bird photo as well <span style="font-weight: bold;">(See above)</span><br /><br /><span style="font-weight: bold; color: rgb(102, 255, 255);">Step 8</span><br /><img src="http://img185.imageshack.us/img185/5461/41643422pc0.jpg" /><br />Can you see that bird is now popping out from the frame? Cool isnt it. Now to make it way cooler and realistic, let's add some shadows beneath the frame.<br /><br /><span style="font-weight: bold; color: rgb(102, 255, 255);">Step 9</span><br /><img src="http://img258.imageshack.us/img258/8389/59369838yq4.jpg" /><br />Make a new layer above the "<span style="font-weight: bold;">Glow</span>" layer. Use the Paint tool and click below the frame to create the shadow.<br /><br /><span style="font-weight: bold; color: rgb(102, 255, 255);">Step 10</span><br /><img src="http://img527.imageshack.us/img527/5923/10qt4.jpg" /><br />Go to <span style="font-weight: bold;">Edit> Transform> Distort</span> to transform the shadow just like above.<br /><br /><span style="font-weight: bold; color: rgb(102, 255, 255);">Step 11</span><br /><img src="http://img510.imageshack.us/img510/7022/11tg7.jpg" /><br />You can use the <span style="font-weight: bold;">Eraser tool</span> to adjust the shadow and guess what!
