Do you have flat photos taken with digital camera but no D.O.F (Depth Of Fields) effects on it? No worries! I have simple steps for you to get that fixed!
What is DOF?
The depth of field (DOF) is the portion of a scene that appears sharp in the image. Although a lens can precisely focus at only one distance, the decrease in sharpness is gradual on either side of the focused distance, so that within the DOF, the unsharpness is imperceptible under normal viewing conditions.
Step 1
Open any photos you want to have DOF effects on it. If possible, choose photos with any objects in it. Next, click on it "Edit in Quick Mask Code" and select the "Gradient Tool". After that, choose the "Radial Gradient".
Step 2
Make the radial shape gradient on the object that you want it to be sharpen (the rest will be blurry area later on).
Step 3
Now select the "Edit in Standard Mode". You should see the outline of the radial shape on the photo.
Step 4
Next go to Filter> Blur> Lens Blur. Adjust the setting's just like above and click OK.
Press Ctrl-D to remove the outline.
This is the result! Fake DOF even if you dont have the right lens to create this effect!

good one.. but this technique cannot apply to all photos eh..
since DOF is by the arrangement..
some have to do manually hor
hi
yup yup some only, just an extra effect on the photos u take :)
too simpl :(
haha no matter what cannot beat the DSLR photos right?
We need a more specific photo guide like that step where you say press ctrl-D to remove the outline. Is there any technic we should apply or just simply clicking ctrl-D. For dummy like us, we really appreciate more specific guide. Just like cooking, when we say chop the garlic but dummy dunno the exact way to chop the garlic. hahaha!
Keep up the good work. I really feel your tutorial very helpful.
hellow... It's sooo helpful.. Thx^^
this very simple (dof) thanks.
Thanks for sharing such an interesting post with us. You have made some valuable points which are very useful for all readers
