Welcome to another Adobe Photoshop Tutorial post!
Do you have any plain and dull background portrait shots? Don't worry, you can make those shots look way better with Photoshop!
First of all,
Download the Pattern here : http://www.brusheezy.com/brush/457-Photoshop-Patterns-Pack-05
Model Stock photo : http://atropo-stock.deviantart.com/art/white-dress-07-82415127
Step 1
Create a new document, File> New with this size : Width 500px and Height 700px. Once you've created the document, color the background with black.
Step 2
Cut out the model photo using any cutting tools, polygonal lasso or the the pen tool. Place the model photo onto the black background layer and name it to "model".
Step 3
Next make another layer below it and call it "pattern".
Step 4
Now select the layer and let's import the pattern before we can fill it. Go to Edit> Fill. A small window will popup. First, choose the "Custom Pattern",then on the click small arrow and select "Load Patterns"Locate the patterns you've just downloaded.
Step 5
A set of patterns will appear once you load the pattern file. Choose the one I've circled or any other patterns that you like as the wall background.
Step 6
Set the opacity to "50%"
Step 7
We are now making the small spot light effect. To do this, make another layer on top of the pattern and fill it with black color. Named it as "light" for your reference. Click on the "Eraser tool" and set the brush size to "800". Now, go to the "Light" layer and erase the top middle part of the layer. You'll notice the light layer is now act as spot light.
Step 8
Make another layer above the "light" layer and call it "Shadow". Select the "Brush Tool" with the size of "435" and the Flow "52%". Simply click on the middle part of the layer to create some sort of shadow effect of the model.
Step 9
We have almost come to the end! Just few more steps. Create a copy of the model layer by dragging it to the "New Layer" icon. We're going to make shadow on model (bottom part).
Step 10
Next, go to Image> Adjustments> Brightness & Contrast. Set the "Brightness" to "-60".
Step 11
Select the "Eraser Tool" and erase the top part of the model (see above).
That's all folks! Now let's start digging all the portrait shots or even product shots and make it look stunning by using the simple steps above!

It's interesting to see just how pervasive virtual memory has become in our every day lives. It seems like everywhere I turn, I see something with a card slot or USB jack, lol. I guess it makes sense though, considering how inexpensive memory has become lately...

Hello…what is the fun of sitting at home and working all alone on an impersonal machine? I am a very social person and like to get out and mingle. Maybe you should try some more, to convince a person like me to give up a day job. There are wonderful blogs on sites like Business Logo Design, Professional photo design jobs which speak highly of work-from-home freelancers. I find them quite interesting to read. I will keep freelancing work for a rainy day. At present though, I am happy working 9 to 5.
